Welcome to
Kilbrien Round
Novel Imprint of West Waterford Press
We are the novel imprint for West Waterford Press. We’ll leave high art to the high artists. West Waterford Press will in time publish poetry, short story collections and perhaps even works of grand literature, but not under this imprint. At Kilbrien Round we deal purely in entertainment. Gripping, accessible, page-turning entertainment.
As the ‘novel imprint’, everything with our logo on it is a full-length fictional prose narrative. We value plots unfolded by the actions, thoughts and speech of the characters. We relish stories set locally, created by local authors, and written with a local audience in mind. The more local, the better (as is illustrated by our alliance with West Waterford Arts Group).
We believe new creative writing talent can be discovered in old places, and from young heads on old shoulders. Not all fresh talent is fresh-faced. But, above all, we want to work with storytellers writing in Ireland, about Ireland, for Ireland.

Our Latest Release
In 2022, we were proud to launch our first title, The Aoife Effect, a novel by Eamonn Cooney, edited by our own Kevin MacAlan, with a story set in our home county of Waterford. In 2024, we're equally proud to say that this unique novel has been longlisted for a CAP Award for fiction.
