Right now, it's all about The Aoife Effect!
Eamonn Cooney
Set in 1980s Ireland this poetic novel of self-discovery is both comedic and tragic. Medical student Dylan can do many things. He can quote anatomical texts, ride a motorbike, drink until comatose and perform cosmetic surgery. The one thing he finds himself unable to do is ignore the Aoife effect. Aoife is all that Dylan's life isn't: unpredictable, wild and fun. But she has a past, and in trying to bury her ghosts Dylan nearly buries himself instead.
Eamonn Cooney is the closest thing Dylan had to a best friend. His account of Dylan's rise and fall is an emotional and personal tale revealing the appetites and impulses which ultimately drive us all.

The Aoife Effect is a Co Waterford favourite:

Mrs Fitzgerald of Co Waterford said "really enjoyed it, read late into the night and woke up early to get back to it, it definitely has the can't-put-it-down factor".
